Recess: Group exhibition

Kenise Barnes has relocated her contemporary art gallery. After a very successful two years in the previous gallery space, it was time for larger quarters.

The inaugural exhibition is titled Recess, a group show of emerging and mid career contemporary artists. Bearing in mind the idea of recess being a “cessation of customary activities” the works selected for this show are light hearted, lively and anticipatory of the summer months to come. The work ranges from a life-like painting of a sea turtle, a collage of a businessman riding a tricycle and works on paper made with the artist’s fingerprints. The show is comprised of paintings, photographs, works on paper and sculpture by fourteen artists: Jeremy Adams, Deborah Brown, Edith DeChiara, Lucy Fradkin, Rima Grad, Theresa Hackett, Stuart Hawkins, Nade Haley, Lily Prince, Peri Schwartz, Arthur Simms, Faith Stern, Margaret Watts, Melissa Zexter
