Linda Nisselson and Faith Stern: two-person exhibition

Linda Nisselson an abstract painter will be showing new work in this two-person show. Nisselson’s works inspired by the pulse and energy of our natural surroundings. The paintings show a strong visual connection to landscape painting but depart from the traditional in the abstracted geometry and brilliant coloration. The work incorporates imagery both imagined and remembered. With no visual references in the studio the canvases becomes fluid and intuitive. The artist’s work has been included in many corporate collections including IBM Corporation and PepsiCo Inc. Nisselson lives and works in Mamaroneck, NY.

Faith Stern has produced an outstanding new body of work incorporating broken and ground glass in her always-lovely pastels. The works are inspired by the shapes of Murano glass vessels. They distinguish themselves from traditional still lives by using bits of the actual glass in the compositions. This combination makes her “stillscapes” compelling and dangerous. Work by Stern can be seen in The Heckscher Museum, The Katherine Ordway Collection at Yale University and other corporate collections.
